Meet Ray Bourhis and Matthew Bourhis

Ray Bourhis is a partner with the Bourhis Law Group in San Francisco as well as the author of InsuranceConsumers.com and numerous books and articles on long-term disability insurance law. He was appointed by the California Superior Court to oversee reforms in the California Department of Insurance and by Senator Barbara Boxer to her Federal Judicial Selection Advisory Committee. A graduate of the Ohio State University and the UC Berkeley School of Law, Ray and his cases have been profiled by 60 Minutes, Dateline, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and other national media. He is the father of four grown children and lives in Belvedere and Santa Barbara, California.

Matthew Bourhis is a partner with the Bourhis Law Group in San Francisco, specializing in long-term disability and bad-faith insurance matters. He contributes pro bono insurance-related legal assistance to California disaster victims and to low-income individuals who have suffered catastrophic fire, flood, and earth movement losses. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston University and his law degree from the UC Davis School of Law. In 2015 he served Hon. Albert Chiantelli at ADR Services in mediation matters. He went on to work with the California Supreme Court on habeas corpus petitions in death penalty cases and he served in the chambers of Justice Martin J. Jenkins in the California Court of Appeal. He lives in San Francisco, California.
